Devlog 06: Visual Updates




As we are finishing up our game, we have added some major visual updates to really bring out the aesthetics we have envisioned.

The changes can be categorized into 5 major components:

1. Lighting

  • Changed our lighting mode to be more dynamic
  • Shadows have been sharpened

2. Post Processing

  • Added a Post-processing layer to the camera with TAA anti-aliasing
  • Reduced motion blend as it leads to blurry movement

3. Color Grading

  • Added a Post-processing volume profile with increased temperature and tint to give the level a warmer mood
  • Increased saturation and contrast to make the level look more vibrant

4. Particle Effects

  • Added god rays to certain areas using particle effects (as seen in screenshot)
  • Falling cherry blossoms were added to all the cherry blossom trees

5. UI

  • All UI icons have been updated to be more fitting with the style of the game (as seen in screenshot)
